Vitoria-Gasteiz. Night walk
We will start our walk through the evening city with The white lady square (Plaza de la Virgen Blanca on the map). In the everyday life of local residents, the name "Old square"is popular.
Monument to the battle of 1813, as a result of which the city was liberated from the French army.
The original lighting of the monument, as well as small fountains, gives the square an unforgettable view. By the way, the next day, early in the morning, I wanted to take some more pictures of the square, but all the lighting was turned off. In this design, the square can only be seen in the evening.
Новая площадь (Plaza Nueva на карте), находится совсем рядом, она носит официальное название "Площадь Испании" (Plaza de España). Площадь окружена комплексом зданий, построенных в едином стиле, главным из которых является муниципалитет.
За зданием мэрии находится аркада Аргуильес (Los Arquillos на карте).
Два здания с аркадами были построен в конце 18 века на границе старого города, расположенного на холме. Галереи и террасы сглаживали рельеф и и делали более удобным доступ к средневековым улочкам из нового центра города.
На террасе Святого Михаила в 2007 году был открыт памятник Селедону Алсола - крестьянину-баску, персонажу городского праздника Белой Богородицы, приглашающего всех веселиться, выпивать и закусывать. С 1957 года Селедон открывает праздник, спускаясь под зонтиком на площадь с колокольни Сан-Мигель.
Галереи Аргуильес отделяют от центра уютную тихую площадь Мачете (Plaza del Machete на карте) с церковью Святого Мученника Висенте (Iglesia de San Vicente Mártir).
Портал храма находится в маленьком переулке на улице Коррериа. Вечером здесь довольно оживленно.

Follow the pedestrian street of the servants of Jesus (Calle de la Fundadora de las Siervas de Jesús) to the Church of the Apostle Peter (Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol on the map).
We will finish our evening walk in the Provincial square (Plaza de la Provincia on the map) with the Palace of the Chamber of deputies of the province of Alava (Palacio de la Diputación Foral de Álava), the administrative center of which is Vitoria-Gasteiz.
